Default engine whistle

Been back to the dealer and he says nothing wrong, here's the situation, I have a 06 GT, if I get on it in first gear at about 15 mph I start to hear a whistle, it will in crease in pitch till I hit second, after a second or two in second gear the whistle comes back and the pitch rises again. to me I thought maybe a vacuum leak of some kind, however, my dealer says everthing is normal. The sound is not over powering but with the shaker 500 off it can be heard easyly. Now if the sound was from a turbo they forgot to charge me for that would be ok, but, no turbo. Does anyone else have this sound.....

Sounds like the transmission....are you getting the RPM's up before shifting.

My 05 GT does the same thing, I get on it and after 3k it starts to whistle.

I wouldn't worry bout it to much, and if something does go wrong, its still under warranty!

I have an auto also. The engine would whistle very often and didn't require much throttle to do so- sounds similar to super charger whine. Thought it was a transmission thing, but once I installed my CAI, the sound disappeared. Sort of miss it. Anyway, it's normal.

My car has always done the same thing, in second or third gear (auto), before and after I supercharged it. Anybody ever had this diagnosed as a problem? It does sound cool, but I wonder if there is a vacuum leak somewhere causing horsepower loss.

Does everyone's car do this? If not, I think I will try to figure it out, since it cannot be good.

Well it makes sense you heard a whistle after you supercharged it It may just be the sound of air being pushed through the corrugated carbon filter trap after the stock filter, or just the small hole before the filter itself. Regarless, since so many people have reported this, if it were a problem there would be a TSB on it. The only HP loss is the restrictive stock intake system.
