2007 GT and GT500 aluminum pedal covers
I am thinking of getting a set of the factory aluminum pedals that the new 07's have on them as an option. I see that one company claims to be the OE supplier and is selling sets on e-bay and through a couple venders.
My question is, on the gas pedal I notice the ones they sell attach with double sided tape. Is that how the factory 07 pedal is installed?? Doesent seem quite right.
From a very quick glance I took today while vaccuming the carpets, it looks like the plastic pedal pad is removable from the pedal arm unless I am mistaken.
Anyone have an 07 with the new pedals that they can peek at and tell me if their gas pedal pad is attached with tape?? Or maybe a ford guru can give me ford part #'s for the aluminum pedals?
Last thing, those who do have them, any decrease in traction between your shoes and the pedals or scratching of the aluminum??
Thanks
Nick

I have the pedals from Classic Design Concepts. The gas attaches with tape but it is on there solid. The break and clucth attach with rubber overlays. A bit of a pain to install but ones there are on they are great.

nice link R3! i like the installation much better than the steeda pedals where you have to drill holes for fitment. and these look much closer to the actual '07 oem.
question about the accelerator pedal: having it attach on top of the stock pedal, does that create noticable thinkness in appearace or feel?

The Gas pedal does not feel any different then stock and does not look thicker. It is shaped to fit into the grooves of the stock pedal.

RE: 2007 GT and GT500 aluminum pedal covers
According to the member I e-mailed. The clutch and brake pedals are one piece (but capped in aluminum) as original and the accellerator pedal is bonded to a hard plastic backing but nothing like the sets shown above with the double sided tape application.
I am guessing it is different and am going to see if I can get ford part numbers at some point.
Any ford gurus want to look up the numbers??

To retrofit the '07 pedal you have to get the entire pedal with arm and linkage! Here's a pic:
