GT 500 sighting
Well I saw my first one one the road today, and the day before saw it parked a few blocks down. It appears to belong to a local retired pro baseball player. He's a Ford fan, has a black Ford GT, Shely AC Cobra, Mach I Mustang, and lots of other toys. He even bought a building downtown Sebring that used to be an old car dealer to house his collection.
The Shelby GT 500 was Legend green, white stripes. I didn't care for the large wheels, just doesn't do much for me. I like the old style American Mags.
I wonder how much he had to pay for it. Since he is a local hero, and I'm sure bought his Ford GT from the dealer, he got a sweet deal. Worth investigating, I have some contacts at the dealer.

One of the members of the GTA Mustang Club picked one up last week and I saw one at a local dealer here in Toronto last weekend. While I appreciate what is under the hood the car’s appearance does not do that much for me. There is just not enough of a difference in looks compared to a regular GT.
I would love to go for a ride in one of course.

The only problem with sighting one is you may not really be seeing one at all. I did a search on eBay for "Shelby GT500" and there were complete kits and I mean complete body kits available even for V6's. Can you imagine someone in a V6 posing as a GT500? It could happen. I'm totally against that. FYI, there must be at least 10 GT500's up for auction. Some are up over $60,000 and not one has met the reserve yet.
Ahhh, it appears the Bartow Ford dealer sold their GT 500 did they? Just out of curiousity Suba, who is the major league player out in Sebring? I go out there occasionally on the job, and I've never heard of a big-time basballer out there. (Not doubting you in the slightest, just very curious.) I though the only thing in Sebring was old people in RVs.
My family is friends with the owner of an AC company here in Plant City, and he paid for one of the new Shelby's from Gator Ford off I-4. As soon as he takes delivery, he's promised me I could take it for a test drive (I'll be getting pictures of course.)

There are a few problems with this sighting, Legend Lime was dropped for 2007 and straight off the SVT website these are the only available color combos for the GT500:
Torch Red Clearcoat (with Performance White or Satin Silver stripes)
Alloy Clearcoat Metallic (with Satin Silver or Tungsten stripes)
Vista Blue Clearcoat (with Performance White or Tungsten stripes)
Performance White Clearcoat (with Vista Blue or Tungsten stripes)
Tungsten Grey Clearcoat (with Satin Silver stripes only)
Grabber Orange (with Performance White or Tungsten stripes)
Ebony Clearcoat (with Performance White or Tungsten stripes)
So what you saw was a normal GT or a V6 with all the GT500 specific body parts.
