Automatic lag

Automatic lag
I read a few posts here about reconfiguring the ECM to be more responsive in the auto GT. "Turn vehicle on, wait for diagnostic lights to dim, slowly apply pressure to pedal (assuming revving the engine) until floored slowly back off until no pressure is on the pedal. Turn off vehicle." What exactly is this going to do? Seems kinda shady, let me know what you guys know.
Thanks much

RE: Automatic lag
Your not supposed to actually turn the vehicle on. Just turn the key till the dash lights come on. I've heard that from a lot of people, but never tried it so I don't know if it actually works. I think a good tune is definitely the way to go to minimize the throttle lag.

For sure, tune and CAI are #1 on my shopping list.

RE: Automatic lag
Tried it last night. Not a world of difference but the throttle does respond faster to pedal movement for sure. From a hard launch I get a little more tire spin than desireable, but once hooked I seem to reach power band very quickly. All is well, I really need a CAI and a tune me thinks.
