Default Another S/C question

You guys with superchargers. Did you all go with the bigger 39# injectors or keep the stock 24# ones?

Bigger - too much work/money to not get the extra HP and HP capability

Can I use my C&L cold air intake on my Saleen S/C when I get it installed? It's the street one with the aluminum tube. Sorry so many questions lol

It is all a question of tunes and boundaries...

The "stock" Saleen system (i.e. the one you get when you buy a 281SC or get teh SC without the "upgrade") uses the stock 05/06 air box and MAF...

So, anything you do that is better can be used and will be an improvement (same Throttle body, so there are no fitment issues)...

You are going to need to get such a setup tuned of course as it will not be the same as anything Saleen expected with their canned tune...

The Saleen SC does move the throttle body up a bit, so I suppose if your setup is overly rigid, it might have trouble fitting, but anything that rigid is likely to have trouble with a stock motor torquing over...

There is no such thing as "too many questions" in my mind for a mod like this (or any other that adds 100+ HP at a time)... there are always gotchas....

Actually the street version of the C&L will hit the alternator. I personally would recommend s-canning it and picking up either the setup JDM sells, or some form of hybrid piece together version. Even if you didn't have clearance issues with the intake tube, you would quickly run out of voltage on the stock mas air sensor.

I am running a Steeda CAI, a C&L Racer intake tube, hump hoses from Stylin', and a Lightning MAF/MAS from buyfordracing.

Maybe I should get the Saleen S/C upgrade kit then. Looks like it comes with everything I need.

Shop around, don't rely on Saleen alone for parts unless you just have an over abundance of cash and don't mind spending extra.
You can get a Lightning MAF/MAS and set of injectors from buyfordracing for $385, pick up the harness pigtail from Blue Oval for $30. Several different places selling pulleys now for $150 or less. You can get the C&L race tube from JDM with the bump hoses for $190, or without for $105 and get the hoses from Stylin for $45. Congical air filters are pretty prevalent on ebay, but you can probably adapt your existing C&L filter and heat shield pretty easily.

In principle - I would have to agree - the Saleen upgrade kit is charging too much...

The downside is you have to not only shop around but:
a. do a lot more reading to get the right combo of parts
b. get it tuned right away...

Owing to unknown/lacking tunning access in my area, I took the route of minimizing variables at a known cost increase to get things running "pretty well" and deal with fine-tuning later...
