engine light
Ok, I connected the battery back up, and now the engine light is off. But, the car has no power at all anymore, like, it wants to go but then falls on its face and stays like that. What could be wrong with it now!
I installed the shaker scoop like over a month ago, I checked all the wires again, and the intake hose, it all seems to be correct, maybe I will take it out again to make sure. If nothin else, guess I will be giving Ford a call to take my car in again.

I installed the shaker scoop over a month ago, and everything seems to be correct on it still. If there was still something wrong, wouldn't the engine light come back on?
Well, the engine light came back on again, still runs like crap, so I think I am goin to give Ford a call and let them hook it up to the scanner to see what is wrong. Stupid car, lol.
Will a scanner that only goes to 2003 work for these cars? I asked my local mechanic and he said he will hook it up to his scanner and set it to generic, he said they all have the same codes.
ok, took it to my mechanic, his thing wouldn't read the code. So, I phoned Ford and they are gonna look at it Friday. Is there anything I should leave out when I talk to them, like about disconnecting the battery, are they gonna care about that? What about the vapor thing in the induction pipe, should I put that back in? Should I tell them about taping off the factory hole in the air box, I just don't wanna say anything that might void my warrenty, thanks!
with the new drive by wire tech. in these cars when you changed the size of the intake by taping off the stock intake witch is where the MAF sen. is located the car's engine went lean lean is fast but not always good, with the CEL on it is in failsafe mode you will damage the engine if you continue to do this. the battery trick will work to reset the code but in the future a retune is needed if you change the intake size.
I taped off the stock hole in the air box so all the air would come through the shaker, I didn't touch anything with the intake pipes or mass air flow sensor. The car is at ford right now (have thread about that) getting "fixed". They have no idea whats wrong with it. It threw codes P1071 and P1074. What do these codes mean?
