Interesting.
Now I'm really beginning to wonder about mine.
I can speed shift just fine with it, but granny shifting is very iffy.
Even though I literally grew up driving manuals, I've been thinking the problem's been me all along.
But my clutch doesn't engage until about 3in from the floor, almost at the very top.
Hmmm....
Oh ... and I haven't had any issues grinding into 1st.

I haven't had any gear grinding in mine.
I've driven a lot of sticks, and the clutch on the Stang engages/disengages rather close to the floor compared to many other vehicles. This may be a factor.
