Default Wheel Style Preferences

I have a question for your guys....anyone running a mesh style wheel on your 05-07 Stang. I know the "fan blades", five spokes, etc. are more popular and "retro"....If your running mesh...what manufacturer, size, and tire... Really appreciate your candid opinion and response.

I looked for some before I bought my wheels, but couldn't find any I liked. Good luck!

GT Premi has some mesh wheels on his torch red GT. They are black with a polished lip. I think they look pretty sharp. I'm not sure what brand or size though.

JD,

Say bud, you nailed it with that combo....wheels look great on the car...My 07 GT vert is black with parchment top....I think I am hooked on chrome or polished finish, but I love the gray spoke/polished lip on the five spokes. Thanks you guys...

The FR500 wheels are a great look and certainly show off the wheel/brake/tire well. The FRPP wheel is expensive, copies...I got to wonder about the quality though...Enkei and RPM both make good look'n 18" mesh wheels that have 38mm or 40mm offsets respectively and should work well on the car....and then there mesh styles from about half a dozen others..BBS comes to mind....they get expensive fast too...the new TPS straps for eighteens from Ford cost more than $150.00 for 18"...d***n.

I think the fr500 is about as "mesh" as I would go on these cars.. you get too many spokes and it just starts looking more european or asian sports car type thing. JMO though.. I have to say though, for being a multispoke wheel, the fr500s look damn good, probably in my top 10 wheels for our cars. Good luck on your search and keep us posted!

BTW, I believe Iforged has a few multispokes for our cars so you might wanna check them out. Theyre great quality wheels and nice and light, and you can get them in just about any size you need... only downside is they get expensive very fast. Get what ya pay for though right?

Blinkage..having owned some of those alternative vehicles....many with mesh style wheels, I guess that is where I got my interest from. I have hesitated to go in that direction just for the reasons you have articulated. Too European or Japanese ...not in keeping with the style of the car..the FR500s do look good on the car...I figure about as big as I would go is 18s...issues with ride quality and suspension dynamics (weight) come into play when you go to 20s.....I think these guys with 40 pound wheels and heavier tires will see suspension and wheel bearing problems in a few thousand miles...JMO
