Default ANYONE Busted a shock?

I think I have a busted passenger side rear shock. I can jack the car up and let the wheels hang free and that side hangs about 2.5 inches lower than the other. I know the center section of the rear isn't perfectly centered under the car, but if anything it should be the opposite of the way it is.

I was at the track a few weeks back and had a bad run that resulted in bad wheelhop right after the track had been reprepped after a oil down in my lane. The car made a popping noise from the back and I shut it down and coastedl. It drove fine, but anytime I would intentionally spin the tires, say even on wet roads, the passenger side will wheelhop uncontrolably.

I really don't want to take it in and have the dealership tell me I have done something to the car by mistreatment. I think I might just order some of the take-offs that Saleen offers. You can get a pair for like $30 or so.

If its under factory warranty just take it to the dealer, They not gonna ask if you were racin w/ it, I just had a blown shock replaced by dealer. Actually they replace them as as set.

Might want to look at the sway bar mount. Wouldn't the sway bar keep it from hanging down or if one side of the sway bar isn't attached woudn't that side hang down more?

Before you take it in you might want to make sure you clean all pieces of melted rubber up in the wheel wells. So there is no chance of them knowing you were at the strip. You should definitely take it in it should not have failed. Look at the brochures they handed to you before you bought the car it shows a Mustang burning out.
