I can see them doing something of the sort to counter the production of the Camaro. If they stick with the same hp in the mustang me thinks they will loose some people. If they up the hp they will retain more customers. I can't see them releasing 425hp though

This is a pushrod engine same as boss 302 from 1969/1970. Really can't see ford moving away from the modular motor(overhead cam) if only for a special edition. Used to work on and drive these old stangs, thats why I bought a 06 for the retro look but new technology. Original Boss 302 was one great engine and now made stonger. Good videos on the frpp site of original Boss cars.

I have been a die hard stang driver most of my adult life but if the challenger comes out like the concept car and is priced right then I may just be driving a uhhhh dodge ..Thing looks sweet

I just hope that they don't kill off the muscle car again by pricing them into oblivion...
The Challenger and Camaro are projected to go for over $40,000.
Look what happened to Harley Davidson...
300 HP for $27,000 is a deal...400 HP for $45,000 is not!
IMHO, a musclecar is supposed to be cheap enough for the "everyman" to own, and consequently blow off thier rich neighbors in thier German "engineering"!
An overpriced Musclecar will only end up being a temporary toy for the well-off, and when they get bored with them, the market will be gone again...
If I had my way, Id bring back the ultra-cheap,steel-wheeled, rubber-mat-for-carpet, no frills 2-door AMERICAN musclecar, just to see the looks on thier faces!
Have you seen an Mitsu Evo? Just the cheapest tinbox they could build with a big motor, nice seats and extra guages!!
PLEASE, FORD!! Add more HP, but KISS (keep it simple, stupid)...
Again, JMHO...[:-]

I agree legendlime. Just give me a basic car with a BIG motor. They could cut costs by eliminating some things I don't need anyway. Like power windows, stereo etc. Like you were saying, once a car reaches 40,000 or above, ALOT of people won't be able to purchase one.
