DARN IT>>>ENGINE THREW A CODE
It started last night....went away....loaded back the stock tune....came back again.... fuel guage goes from full to empty and turns red.....then check engine light comes on...then info center states FUEL LEVEL LOW DTE FLI DATA ERROR... which if I were to guess must MEAN "DISTANCE TO EMPTY FUEL LEVEL INFORMATION DATA ERROR" GOES to dealer on Monday/....car has no issues....(except the fact it runs like a dog in its stock tune...man you never realize that until you reload the stock tune...yuck) anyhow...not sure if anyone else has had experience with this and what they did to fix.....thanks for all the input...

A friend had this on his pro-charged 05. I went into the ford tech database and it is caused by a sulfer buildup on the sender units. They will replace both to resolve it under warranty.

Same thing about the fuel guage and check engine light happened to me pn my 2005 GT. The dealer told me about the sulphur build up and to add a bottle of Chevron's Techron Plus. It's only been a 1000 miles or so since I've done this but so far so good.

Mine did this and FORD put something in the gas tank and said if that didn't fix it to come back and get a new fuel pump. I never had another problem with that again and it was explained to me too, at Ford ,it could be sulfer built up.

RE: DARN IT>>>ENGINE THREW A CODE
well just returned from the dealer....he stated that it was sulfur buildup on the fuel sensor. he stated that since i just filled up with gas to wait then add techron and chevron ultimate gas to clean. I will and advise....He stated to stay away from the mobil gas station I bought from and also some BP's. Only a few companies here in Fla have there own fuel tankers (Or top tier as they call them fuel companies) they are Chevron and Texaco (One in the same) Citgo and some of the BP's due to their affiliation with texacos.....personally I have not searched to support this too much just some quick googling and other info tracking as well as dealer and other input....the issue with the code as of late was it was throwing lean in the stock tune setup (DUH) dealer advised me if the fuel problem continues I will have to put the stock air box back on then bring it back in (obviously with the stock tune.) but in the meantime I put EVO's tune back in it. no lean codes and no engine light...just waiting on the eratic fule guage reading to go away ,,,,hopefully the techron does it.....so i do not have to put my damn stock airbox back in....anyhow....heres to techron doing what it says it will do...and to another faulty ford part that allows this stuff to happen..
