Default bad dyno #'s

I had my car dynoed today to see if my a/f was where it needed to be. My air/fuel was at 13.0 consistently on all 3 runs. It was on a dynojet at a very experienced place. They gave me 3 diff readings-
sae-hp 275
trq 289

std-hp 284
trq 299

uncorrected- hp 292
trq 307
It wasabout 57 degrees here in portland w/43% humidity.all pulls were done in 4th gear. I currently have a 5spd gt with jlt2 cai, brenspeed 92 octane, slp lm's and 4.10 gears. I don't know the diff between the 3 diff readings, can any one explain what one I go by? They also took the a/f reading from the tail pipe so I might be even a little rich possibly I just thought my #'s would be higher. thanks for any help, Brad.[/align]

usually when reading at the tail pipe which means it flows through the cat, before the cat would be one point less from my experience

292 RWHP and 307 lbs of torque is great for a S197 GT!

Yeah those are'nt bad #s for your mods you have. But I find it strange that they did the pulls in 4th.....My guy does all the pulls in 3rd...I doubt that makes a differance but thought I would mention it.

From reading previous posts, I thought it was 3rd for a manual, 4th for an automatic. And from what I understand, this does make a difference, I have no idea why.

I agree with him: His numbers aren't very good. His SAE number should be in the high290's sincedynojets overrestimate hp. Perhaps that 43% humidity made a difference?

All dyno pulls are supposed to be in 4th gear reguardless of atuomatic or manual transmissions.

that is correct....when my numbers on my Auto were done in 3rd it was sheeyat....then went somewhere else and pulled in 4th....big difference....those numbers should be a lil higher with your mods...specially standard 5 speed....post the chart[sm=ttiwwp.gif]

those arnt bad numbers at all for the mods that you have ... the tune and cai helped out and gears def improve performance but dont necessarily give you any horsepower

The SAE results are the only ones that matter IMHO since they are corrected for changing atmospheric conditions such as ambient temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure. Comparing SAE numbers with each dyno run is comparing apples to apples when using the same dyno. Here in New England there is quite a difference when running in different seasons sounless you use the corrected numbers you can make your readings anything you want.Less scrupulous tuners may artificially inflate results to make you feel like you've gotten your moneys worth. That's why the SAE numbers are the only ones I'd go by.
