Default A simple "Wave"

A safe and Happy New Year to all!!
I am a newbie here and will be buying a GT vert as soon as I can find the right car. Having recently sold my baby (see below) because I have two small rugrats who couldn't fit in the backseat of my vette , I am now looking for a replacement that has a backseat! One thing I really loved about being a Corvette owner was the "Brotherhood" all vette owners had. It would be rare that I would pass another vette on the street without a nice wave from the driver. I would continually have other vette owners stop and take a minute to say hi! You knew if you had a problem on the road it would be a matter of time before another vette owner would be there to render assistance. Guess my question would be that with another sweet american muscle ride (mustang) do you guys do the same? I have never noticed mustang drivers waving to each other, but I never really noticed vette drivers doing it until I owned my first. It sounds corny, but believe me that something as simple as a wave to a fellow enthusiast makes you feel good.[8D]

I always try to wave but mostly the newer mustangs are the ones that wave back theres quite a few older models from the 90s that gave me mean stares and same thing with a few v6s its not the same as the vette brotherhood yet but i think its getting tehre since the new stangs have came out a lot of people are jumping on it young old whatever..

Theres a great thread on this somewhere was like 5 pages long ill try to dig it up

I tend to get waves and thumbs up responses alot, and I wave to more than just mustangs, but every once and a while there is that driver who returns my wave and smile with an evil eye, I dunno.

I actually got it from my Vette days =)

it might just be me but most of the 94-98 and 99-04 mustang owners seem to ignore the s197s, the fox bodies always wave though from what ive seen, some other 05 gts wave, its funny because i see more waves from other car owners then mustangs.

i always wave at other mustangs, and i'm always willing to help other mustang guys (and gals :P)

I usually give a little rev as I pass them, or turn my fogs off and back on as a "wave" of sorts. They probably go "wtf is wrong with that dude."

All mustang drivers are not enthusiasts. I think it's safe to say that all corvette drivers are enthusiasts or atleast most.

The simple reason is all vettes are sports cars. by sports car I mean they are all high performance machines with V8's and lots of power, plus they are expensive (new ones).

Corvettes are simply in a different class.

I'll normally wave to all GT's and all 05+ stangs, but some of the older V6's give me strange looks.

[sm=exactly.gif]followed by them hitting the breaks thinking that I just flashed them to slow down....

if you wave to all mustangs, your gonna get frustrated
by the lack of reciprocal behavior. there seems to be
a healthy competitiveness between stang owners and
it is a dog eat dog community IMHO

also, welcome and ihope you get your vert real soon
