Default Which short throw shifter?

I am considering a short throw shifter. Which one is best Steeda or the Hurst and how easy is the install? I like the look of the Hurst but seems like I have heard bad things...

i heard bad things too, but i bought it anyways, i posted up a few days ago about a "clunking" I feel in it coasting in neutral to a stop. I guess I have to double check everything. The Hurst is a little louder than the stock shifter (doesnt matter to me) but i can't image missing a gear now!

I don't know about either. I have a Pro 5.0 shifter and it works great.

steeda and pro 5.0 are excatly the same design just different company.. the best shifter on the market is pro 5.0 or steeda.. i have seen guys got hurst and then took hurts off and got pro 5.0.

i just bought pro 5.0 and tomorrow i will try to install.. it has unbelievable feedback.. you won't go wrong with pro 5.0..

EDIT: i put mine on and not impressed at all.. miss 3rd all the time[:@]

I have had both.....Hurst on my first C300 and the Steeda on this one.....both are good. The Hurst isn't as smooth, but as 06StangGT says....you won't miss a shift with it. I like the Steeda better since it isvery definiteand smooth as well.

Everyone will agree that any short throw shifter is going to be better than stock. I really like the look of the Hurst but I have heard they are not as beefy as the pro 5.0 or tri-ax.

I have heard that you could by the pro.50 and just bolt up the hurst shifter arm and ****. I think that is what I am going to do, either that or wait for MGW to release its shifter.

I love my Pro 5.0 shifter. Chirping third is much easier now.

I would urge you to consider the Saleen STS adapter, steeda shifter bushings, and a CHE K-Member brace with torque limiters.

The saleen adapter will give you the shift shifts, and the torque limiters will make you never miss a shift again. The main issue people have is on the 2-3 shift. This is caused by the remote mounted shifter. The linkage gets in a bind when the motor torques over at WOT. The torque limiters will cure this. For me that was the main problem. Once that was cured and the adapter shortened the shifts I really like the stock shifter.

Also the K-member brace will improve handling as an added bonus.
