got rear ended..........UPDATE
That sucks that you got hit like that, I know your pain too well. A few years ago I had a '99 malibu that got rear ended hard and came out a lot worse than your mustang. I was going around another wreck on the freeway using the shoulder since every lane was blocked. The car behind me didn't slow down until it was way too late. I was doing 20, he was still doing 55+. My trunk ended up in the back seat. The worst part was I hadn't even made my first payment on the car, and when the estimate came in it was $500 short of totalling the car. So they fixed it and I drove it around fairly problem free for a couple years until I could get out from under it. It had frame damage that they straightened out, but I never trusted the car fully again.
I hope they do a good job on your car and good luck with it.
And as others have said, their insurance should be paying for the rental car. I don't know how the insurance laws work where you are, but where I'm at, if your main mode of transportation is in an accident andit was theother persons fault, their insurance has to cover your rental.

its supposed to go in tommorow. im in weston, florida.
well its crushed where the hangar was, but obviously because of the 1/4 crumpling all the way to the door, its bent somewhere else too. also, the other side is bent pretty good; and the thing behind my gas tank is smushed in. it just keeps getting worse.

Wow, that really sucks dude.... and yeah, you guys didnt seem to see the part of the subframe where the exhaust hanger was attached to, @ the beginning of the post, lol. That doesnt look horrible, although it is more than just a dent in the frame. It could be fixed but who knows how long it would take, like classj said though, it might end up getting totalled. If it doesnt, your resale and value will drop immensly, any car with frame damage is deemed pretty much worthless (even if it has been repaired). That sudden thrust wouldnt cause any damage farther up the exhaust system would it, like possibly causing small separations of the headers from the engine? With a jarring like that, you might want to make sure nothin is leaking. The quarter panel will probably be a monster... they could end up having to just replace it. I currently have a group of wierd shaped dents on my rear where it looks like someone took a suction device and pulled the metal out and the body shop said if they cant flatten them back in, then Ill have to get a replacement panel.... which runs all the way to the front windshield, and cant possibly be cheap.. I could see it being a couple thousand by itself since its one solid piece of aluminum. Good luck dude and keep us updated. When is it supposed to go in to get looked at?
And btw, I didnt know you lived in FL, where you at?
