Probably you wont see much of a difference among synthetics until your engine reach the end of its usefull life which under normal driving conditions and periodic maintenance should be well beyond 100k miles, and then you wont have much to compare against.
My preference is Mobil 1 I've been using it since 92 and never ever had an engine failure or smoke due to premature wear. just dont wait 10K miles to change the oil, I never go beyond 5K between oil and filter changes.

I used to be a stout mobile 1 user for a long time but as the car progressed, I now use Torco.

Like JRM900 said you are not going to see a big difference between different synthetics there are lots of good brands out there, I use Royal Purple myself but you cant go wrong with Mobil 1 either. Personal preference

I use the Ford Motorcraft 100% synthetic right now....it seems to work well...better than the conventional oil or blended oil Ford puts in them in Canada...

I may or may not switch to RP or something, if I can find somewhere that friggin sells it near me!

since the engine was manufactured with tighter tolerances, the viscosity of the oil needs to be sightly lower (or so they say) to get into every moving part...

I let Ford do my oil changes. I add 4ozs of Tufoil after each oil change. I add a bottle of Zmax Fuel treatment to the gas as well.
