I bought my Mustang gt new in June "06". When I bought it I noticed that when I get on the gas hard "when I start from a stop" it stalls or skips then takes off. I called the dealer and he said it was the traction control doing it.

I’ve turned off my traction control and it is still doing it. It does not do it all the time, mostly when stopped turning left or right and I nail the throttle hard. I have also been seeing some black smoke coming out the exhaust.

I took it back to the dealer and he said he didn’t know what was wrong with it because the check engine light was not on. Then he asked me if I put a chip in it "like I screwed it up". This car is stock except for my SLP loudmouths I put on it. Anyone have any advise on what I should do.

 

Maybe it's just how you're driving it? I like to think I can drive a manual transmission rather well, but my GT puts me in my place every now and then. Yes I'm ashamed to say it but I've stalled her out at traffic lights haha. She's not the easiest manual to drive. Are you dumping the clutch or trying to ease it out?

It’s like the engine stalls or it cuts off then it kicks back in. I just would like to know if any body’s car does this? Is this normal?

well that is probably not lag and the black smoke isnt good either...take it to a different dealer.

 

sounds a little like the "hesitation after cruise"
issue with the fuel pump.....do some searches
for the tsb

not sure what else it could be
