The K&N Intake is one that doesn't require a flash tuner, simply bolts on. However, a custom tune will give you even more power as it makes adjustments for the larger intake of air and so forth. With that being said a Tuner does so much more for the car that it would be stupid not to get one. Such as recalibrating your speedo for tires/gears, checking CELs (Check Engine Lights) and so forth. It's money well spent in my opinion, and with a Intake/Tune package it's not really all that bad of a deal. Save up the extra cash and just get a package is my only opinion.

+2 got the C&L went for the metal one, store told me that the plastic "racing" type gave too mush air unless had new headers. what a difference. PS i didnt want to start a battle over which C&L is better - - metal or plastic. I think the metal was more $

a CAI without a tune is a big waste of money, you would of been better off puting a Kand N drop in in and modifing the stock air box

get one of justins SCT tunes from vmp
