Performance packages with options.

RE: Performance packages with options.
Look buddy, not trying to be rude or anything, but you are dreaming my friend if you really think that its going to give you 80+rwhp. RPMoutlet is known to beef up their numbers. Hell I think they claim 12hp just from a throttle body spacer lol.
Anyway, my 1st mods on my car were full exhaust, including headers, and a CAI and tune, and I didn't see 80rwhp.
On another note...I've heard not good things about the aftermarketthrottle bodies for the new stangs. A few guys over at SVTSnake had issues and where I get my work done on my car, the guy tells people not to get them because they cause problems. Just a heads up.

yeah, I should've put lol after what I wrote. thats what I hate about forums people can't tell when you re joking.
What "issues" are common with the throttle body install though? The search function on here don't work and nobody really explains they just make vague statements.
yeah cobra, all I am going to do is air in/out mods also, nothing too big (i just want to get the proper tune). Prolly spend same amount on suspension as i do performance.

RE: Performance packages with options.
OK I stole this from another forum but it pretty much sums it up:
Early on (when they first came out) i bought the Moto Blue throttle body. At the time I was running the standard Vortech (non-intercooled) on 8 lbs boost. We made one pull at full operating temp and made 410 rwhp. We them put the throttle body on and brought the car back up to full operating temp and made 435 rwhp with no additional changes. We ran it again after a slight cool down and the same results, 25 extra horse power. I have not had any issues what so ever in 15,000 miles. I read in one of the Mustang publications they were doing a test on the available throttle bodies and of the 10 they bought (they bought more than one of each brand) 8 did not function properly. Their test was on a naturally aspirated motor and their gains were minimal. The stock unit is very good, up to a point. The item that must be done correctly is clocking the spring on the throttle body. If off at all, you will get a code. This is one of those "you get a good one or you get screwed." Pardon my French

i think it is a risk I am willing to take. I mean it is coming in the kit that I already ordeded. if I try it and don't like it then it is off to e-bay.

Yep sorry that you thought the comment was vague but howarmat pretty much summed it up. From what I read and was told, the aftermarket throttle bodies were causing "tuning" issues...i.e "the computer throwing a code".
