BLOWER TALK - Episode V
WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE YOUR BLOWER OIL?...
Personally, I go by track use because I beat on mine pretty hard. My thoughts are every 15-30K miles or 200 1/4 passes - whichever come first. Most manufacturers 'recommend' it is not needed for 100K but I don't agree.
I also think it's a good idea to check your level whenever you are doing an oil change just be sure you aren't leaking any.
I have noticed the KB's leak a little more than the Whipple or Saleen - nothing major but something you should be mindful of every once and awhile IMO and make sure your full every oil change...[8D]

Ok... So for us "newly supercharged" members, could you tell me how to check the supercharger oil on a Saleen? It might be very easy and straightforward, but the car is all tucked away and I won't see it again for at least a month or two, so...
And man, I've smelled supercharger oil being changed out of an M90.. Smelled like ****!! Any special tools needed to change the oil in a Saleen? On the M90, IIRC, they were using something that looked like a big syringe with a rubber hose on the end of it..

I check my blower oil every time I open the hood. It hasn't changed in 5k miles. It's nice to be able to see the oil level through the glass window, plus you can see what the oil looks like.
Has your kennebell been leaking internally or externally?

Almost every KB I have ever seen has always had a very slight leak around the pulley snout...
Again, nothing major, but I have noticed it on almost every KB I have seen.
