Default Will it help at the track

Do you think it would help my ET if I removed the spare tire, jack, and let some air out of my back tires?
I'm looking for simple things I can do.

i actually did this today, and took it around town...

maybe it was just my imagination, but i actually could feel a difference.

i don't know how much ~20ish pounds would make though... :\

so it was probably all in my head..

20lbs?????No way Bro.If you remove the tire, jack & carpet you will pull closer to 60lbs!And yes,if you strip the trunk and deflate the tires to 23-25lbs you will turn a better 1/4 time as long as you can drive! If you dont use the rear seat then remove it and all the seat belts, brackets & hardware.this will cut about another 40lbs.Its easy to do also!

Hope you guys don't mind a 4.0 coming over to browse...
Yes, for sure remove all spare tire, jack, carpet, etc... back seats too if you can.
The general rule of thumb is 100 lbs = .1 of a second, which is pretty substantial.

Edit: also show up at the track with 1/8 tank or less of gas, can also remove front swaybar as its just a couple bolts.

Well I was just basing this off my arm scale.

But I've heard people say to leave it in, for better "weight distribution" and for better traction...bs? just leave it out?

Nah Bro.Take that **** out and lighten up your ride of some unwanted weight. If your worried about hooking then get some D/Rs & do a few mods to your suspension like LCAs,BMR sway bar delete(also cuts 26lbs from the nose) & look into a rear sway bar.But pulling weight from these cars should be a priority if your serious about racing. You as the owner just have to decide how serious of a diet you want the car to go on.

Its not hard. The seats pop right out actually then you will need a basic socket set to remove the brackets & hardware. If it takes you longer then 30mins then you took a beer break!LOL!
