Installed Flowmasters today...
Our GT is an Auto convertible, no CAI or anything...
The Flowmasters are the typical black axleback, with the 4-inch tips...
The mounting pins were a bit bent on the left muffler, but they were easy to tweak, and a long prybar was used to get the centering just right (NOTHING is bolt-on!)
They really look and sound great, kinda droney at 2000, but no big deal. Real deep in tone, and at WOT, it doesn't sound like the exhaust is backing up, like the stock mufflers do. I really liked the stock mufflers, but now this thing sounds like a Trans-Am car!!
What surprised me the mostwas the improved throttle response, and what felt like a little gain in midrange torque. Anyone else confirm this?
I am on guard for the loose baffle syndrome, but Im hoping that my auto with no x-pipe will be kind to my Flowmasters...
BTW, I purchased these mufflers used from a Mustang Forum member here, who I was LUCKY enough to cross paths with...Thanks again!
This sight rocks!!

Yes! Just installed Magnaflow cat-backs on my 07 GT. Nothing else done as CAI is on its way.
There was an immediate noticable improvement. The engine wound up quicker and was noticably pepier. I've been tweaking bikes and cars for years and an aftermarket exhaust is the first thing I do. My 07 had 12 Kilometers on it....

+1 on the time thing.... When they were first installed, they sounded quieter than the stock units. By the time I had200 kilometers on them, they were getting throaty and had a good roar when accelerating hard. The magnaflows on my other car took about 5000K's to set in and they sounded excellent.
A CAI will really change the sound. I added a C&L to my other 'stang and it was an entirely different motor. Wound up quick, pulled really hard and had a mean growl. That was a V6 so I can't wait to pop a C&L on my V8.

Did the flowmaster axelbacks require welding for install. And how hard was it to remove the stock exhaust. I want to install some exhaust but i dont want to weld and i would really just to take my stock exhuast out and bolt on some flowmasters...is that possible?
If not flowmasters is there something out there?

I bought mine with bent mandrel and no actual muffler. I thought in CO it would be illegal but I checked it out and apparently it's not so it sounds bad@SS and it's staying. But I did crawl under there and it all looks bolt on with no welding needed.
No welding, strictly bolt-on...
In fact, they even have the cut-out so the factory "tab"on the x-pipe aligns the muffler perfectly! Getting to the mount bolts can be tricky...
