How the hell did you manage not to spin all day on that 3500 rpm launch on street tires? You must have feathered the hell out of that clutch.
No, I did spin like hell, but after playing around on a back road all night once, I felt like 3500 gives me the best launch. Not too laggy, not too much wheel spin and hop.

I hold it at 3500 and let off normally (not clutch drop) just like I would from a normal start. About 1/4 clutch left I "roll" on the throttle all the way and pop the rest of the clutch out. This is the same method I use on my bikes to get a good launch without wheelie-ing.

I don' t do it often, and it prolly isn't good to do. But I haven't smelled that burnt clutch smell yet so...
