Default Mufflers anyone?

I posted this on another forum and got a few guesses but no one really knew the answer so here goes:

I am trying to find out the difference between the factory mufflers.

If your car has a manual trans the muffler tag is Man, if your car has a automatic the tag says Ato.
Other than the tag, what is the difference?

There should be not difference between the auto and stick mufflers even though the numbers are different. There is a difference between the V6 and V8 though.

No difference....maybe it is a stamp different manufacturers give on the same thing.

We had a post on another forum already, I know for sure that the manual mufflers are deeper than auto, I have had both and there is a difference for sure!!

My friend has a auto and before I upgraded mine you could not tell that much of a difference. They were almost identical sounding.
