Default What Mod Next?

I bought a 05 GT used and it had Flowmasters on it when I bought it. I just installed a C&L Street Intake & 93 Perf. tune from ****chips. That made a huge difference in the car. I think its just axel backs how can I tell. What would you guys recomend next. I was thinking LT's, UDP's, and 4.10s The car is a stick with 20 in. Foose Nitrous on it. Also maybe delete plates if they are worth it. I love this freakin car

With the LT headers should I switch to a different mid pipe? What kind of gains couldI expect with headers & x or h pipe exhaust. Thanks MexGT I am new to all this and love this forum. There are alot of knowledgeable people on here

People have seen gains from 13-18 rwhp with the LTs and if you do an off-road mid-pipe, that'll give you another 8-10 on top. If you go the route of a catted mid-pipe, there won't be much of a gain besides the gain the LTs give you. If you want to run a catted setup but want an off-road setup for the track or dyno, you can get some weld-in cutouts for $50 or so.

From a purely financial standpoint, UDP's+ 4.10s = about $600 or less and will give you better performance gains than the 15hp of the $1200 LT's/midpipe. And no, IMO the delete plates are not worth it.

I agree, UDP and gears will be the bang for the buck mods to follow-up what's already been done but money didn't seem to be an issue (unless i missed something). I just got my M/T ET Streets mounted on 17x9 chrome bullitt replicas today and can't wait to try them out. 4.10s are coming next month. I hear the gears make as big of a difference (as far as feel) as the CAI+tune did so I can't wait.

+1 vote for gears. Also, start looking into some suspension mods (LCAs, UCA, springs, shocks/struts, panhard rod, etc). With the few more things I plan to do, my goal is 11s N/A and i'll leave it alone at that. I don't want to have to put a rollcage in the car to take it to the track so a SC or Turbo is not in my future.

A local shop also told me to stay away from the delete plates. Thanks for the info on the LT's. I was leaning toward the gears & pulley. A buddy told me to take the throttle body off and bore it out with a drimmel. Any of you guys ever heard of that. He says to mark where the butterflies close and not to go over that because they wont seal if you do. If that can be done do you have to adjust the tune.

These cars are very particular when it comes to the throttle body. Most aftermarket throttle bodies (if not all of them) have been known to cause major problems in over half the cases even when combined with a tune for it. They'll throw codes and cause the car to go into the safe mode. Boring out the stock throttle body would probably cause more problems than anything else. You'd have to have the car dyno tuned for it. With whatyou have done, even if boring out the TB didn't cause problems, it wouldn't gain you much either. Play the safe route on this one and keep the TB stock.

Yeah that sounded kind of scary to me. He used to work at a GM shop and said they did it all the time. I think I'm going to stick to gears and UDP's. What would be next after that. I want to keep it NA for another year before I go FI. I would love to get into mid to low 12's all NA.

If you want to hit mid 12's...you gotta get into the suspension route...

although you can do performance mods, i would do some suspension mods first...
get the good hook up and you'll hit 12's no problem...not to mention the 4.10s, CAI, UDP you already have.

Finish the exhaust with some LT's...and you'll be set FOR SURE...assuming you get the right tune...

stay away from the delete plates...bang for buck...not worth it...so many other things you should do first...
