Default SLP Install

Hey fellas. I just got my SLP Loudmouth Axlebacks. I was just wondering if there was anything I should look for or watch out for while installing them. Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't know if other people had the same issue as I had installing my Stingers. The problem I had was the tiny bit of clearance directly between the muffler and one of the bolt points. Since I have only a socket wrench and a set of regular wrenches (no ratchet type), it took FOREVER to get them on and off. I think you'll have more clearance with the loudmouths so hopefully it won't be an issue.

The above poster is correct, removal can be tedious, but nothing you really need to know. Cake mod, get em centered takes more time then the install.

This weekend I installed a set of frpp GTAs on my ride, ... and to do the job, you should have/get a 13mm box-end ratchet wrench, and you'll also need regular 13mm and 15mm sockets (deep well is even better).

Once finished, ... if the tips aren't centered in the cutouts, don't waste 2 hours trying to force them into position, ... just take your car to an exhaust shop. THisis what I did (Midas), they put the Stang up on a lift and 5 minutes later everything was right. - They did the job so quickly, they didn't even charge me, .. but I tipped the guy $20 anyway.

take care, hope this helps.

Installed them on Sat... the post above outlines what you need. I loosened the 4 bolts (2 on each side) after the midpipe... gave me some play when lining them up. Enjoy them, they sound great.

I installed them myself and the only trick was centering the tip. To me it was easier to disconect the mid pipe then instal the axelbacks
