Weird question
Now when we start moding our cars we usually begin with bolt-ons including gears 3.73s or 4.10s to help multiply torque. But after a while we get bored and go F/I which causes traction problems. My point? why not go back to stock gears? or even install some 3.08 or 2.73s? some of you will say these gears will kill the performance but think about it for a minute...if your ride is a DD then the most important is how (Usable) the power you got is? what's the point of having 500ft torque if cannot get it to the ground or have to use some race tires that wear really fast? I'm not talking here from experience but some friends of mine have. One of them drives a Chevy Impala with a T76 turbo feeding a 383ci motor with Heads/Cams, he got tired from wheel spinshe saved himself alot of headaches (at least 50%) and swapped in 2.73 gears!!
Any thoughts???

Yes you have to get a supporting suspension......but we are talking 450+ hp with matching torq numbers.....suspension doesnt stop wheel spin with number like that.
Good set of tires help too. You just have to know how to drive the car for the most part and in time you will.

That friend of mine has a full Hotchkis suspension, it helped, but didn't really cure the problem. He's pushing 16psi from a big turbo through an equally big motor. Sticky tireswere the only solutionbut as I said they wear fast and you have to warm them up before getting their full potential. what are you gonna do? do a burnout at every stop light on the street to make sure youhave enough traction?
I have stock 3.55s on my Vortech Blown vert... with the stock suspension and tires... lots of smoke... had some rear suspension mods done...got some DRs and so far (no real hard tests yet) seems to really solve the issue of spin...

Your reasoning it correct, howeverI beleive it all comes down to what kind of people drivesMustangs and why we do it, Mustang and muscle cars in general is all about raw power and and exhibition of brute force, smoking tires, loud exhaust and the like, it is more an attitude. You can get similar performance to our GT's from a 350Zin a more refined way, but we like the muscle, it is likebody builders to gymnasts or Harleys to japanese bikes, it is a matter of style and preference
