Default Idling Issues

I know this is an existing issue for some people. Tune or no tune, the car revs up way too much at startup. I know this is caused of emissions. The question is, can it be changed? I'd like it to startup, 1500rpms max and then the idle in netreul to come down to 800rpms, which it already comes down too.

I have MRT's catted H, with classic chambered powersticks and SLP's, its just a little too loud at startup. Once it warms up the db's are fine. I was wondering if turning off the O2 sensors would change that any, or if there are additional parameters that need to be programmed when flashing a tune to the car.

Any help, well, would be helpfull.............

Yah mine does the same thing when it starts up. Before I put the cats back in it was obnoxious loud. Wife told me it was like the lawnmower, proper etiquete required I did not start it before 8:00 am on Saturdays. The cats quited it down a little but it's still LOUD and especialy at start up until it idles down.

IMO a mustang can never be too obnoxious lol...
...anyway, I'm under the assumption that a fast-idle cold-start warm-up isjust a fact of life, but there seems to be a tune for everything, so maybe there is one for this also?
...I don't subscribe to the Saturday morning rule, since I have to work every Saturday...hey, if I have to beup at 6am, EVERYONE has to be up at 6am lol...

With dougs diablo tunes the RPMs drop very fast, brenspeeds does about the same. Now justins hangs up there and goes a little above 2k almost everytime and makes my exhaust pop alittle....being I have a o/r pipe and stingers, I am sure some people in my apt complex dont like that at 430 in the morning when going to work sometimes. Being that my car is in a single car garage doesnt help. I do run Dougs tunes most of the time so its not that bad but i havent had the thing warm up in the winter to see how loud it is then

I work every Saturday as well but dont have to get up till 7 so turn it down at 6 lol. Brenspeeds tune revs up to about 1500 for me then back down to 900-1000 within about 30 seconds. Since my S/C is oh shall we say forever away(wife figured out I'm trying to spend 5-7k on a twinscrew LOL). I'll end trying Doug's tune at some point but gotta get gears and such done first

Well when I had my tune on there, wasn't much different. I got another tuner, but got screwed, ebay of course. So I'm trying to work that out before I get a tune back on. I work in the Auto business so I'm used to all kinds of crazy hours. My dillema is I have a 1 car garage, condo unit. A little ol lady lives right above my garage. So when I start it up its already in gear and basically take off slowly. With the motor under load while cold holds the rpms down till I get out of the parking lot.

I know the tunes can be written so the idle goes down quickly but has anyone actually gone into the "add parameters" and modify an existing tune after it was already flashed to the vehicle?

I can imagine it now, starting the car up in the morning and her little "football" poodle dogs flying off the bed. Although I think thats hilarious, I've already gotten written up once for excessive noise from my car.
