who's the best in dallas area?
I used Dallas Mustang in the past to install some suspension components and a 3.73 rear in my old '97 GT. They did an ok job, but I was not impressed with their customer service or their rear end install. Thefirst set of gears whined horribly on decelleration - obviously not adjusted or checked for coast pattern. The second set at parts cost to me were not as bad but still had some clunking when going into gear and some whine on the highway. I have not used them for dyno, but they do have one.
I too am looking for a good Mustang speed shop in the area -especially to install 3.73's in a quality fashion. Any ideas for gear install in North-North Dallas area?

I am really glad you started this thread. I too am in the Dallas area and really don't know where to go. I went to Dallas Mustang for some Q&A. Let's just say they really don't have the greatest customer service.
I have heard quite a few negative experinces with Dallas mustang. I don't know exactly how close HPP racing is to you guys but I would highly suggest Manny for anyone in texas. His track record and following is the best in texas of that I am sure.
Edit: My best advice is to talk to your peers. This is a great resource for guys in the DFW area...

WARNING: This site can be a little brutal, these guys are rough but it is an informative forum as well and a good local resource for you guys.

I've heard some negatives as well. Not really in North Dallas, but Bankston Ford in Frisco recommends www.heritagecustoms.com (I think in Arlington). It is run by A.J. Foyt's old mechanic, Tom Bessett. He builds custom new Mustangs and Mustang packages for Bankston and other local dealerships. I've seen his work first hand and his Boss, Mach-I and "Foose Looking" Cloned Mustangs are spectatular in appearance. (There is a GT Premium that he converted to look very much like the new Shelby GT500 KR -- it is awesomeincluding a Rousch Supercharger and was stickering around $38K. I had to get within one-foot of it to tell it was not a "true" KR!
Anyway, check out their web. If you use them, let me know.........the pictures of customer cars speak for themselves. When my warranty ends on my '07 CS/GT I want to clone the Shelby GT (white w/silver stripes) and have then install a supercharger for me.......saving $$ for this as we speak.......
