Threw a 2196 code...
I had longtubes installed recently and dyno'd the car. The car was running a little lean (13.6), so I took it real easy until I received another tune in the email from the tuner. Check engine light was on the whole time, I assumed because the rear 02 sensors weren't plugged in. Anyway, I checked the codes today andone of them was 2196 (I forgot the other one, it had do with the rear 02s, I am sure due to lack of sensors).Found this on the internet:
P2196 - O2 Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Rich - Bank 1, Sensor 1
Description: A heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) indicating rich at the end of a test is trying to correct for an over-lean condition. The test fails when the fuel control system no longer detects switching for a calibrated amount of time.
Anyoneknow what is causing this? Could this be a faulty connection or exhaust leak or something, or does it mean I am running lean? And could it be left over from the few days I drove around with the car a little lean? Brenspeed said the lean condition should have been fixed with the new tune. Or could this have to do with the longtubes and the sensors not warming up properly? Any input is appreciated. I am getting a dyno tune in a few days, just want to make sure I don't blow my engine before then.
The car seems to be running fine. I cleared the codes and have put 20 miles on it, but the code hasn't showed up again. Am I alright to drive the car carefully for now until I get on the dyno?
Also, if the issue was with the tune, wouldn't both sensors throw this code? Since only one is, does this indicate it is more likely some other sensor-related problem?
EDIT : OK, I have been doing so reason and the way the code description is worded is a little confusing, but I guess this is for a RICH condition, not lean?
