Default RPM Question

Hey All. I have a 07 GT, K&N CAI, Flowmasters axle back, and i just put the 93 octane tune in. Was wondering what should my rpm be at. Currently i am at 6200 rpm. IS that a good spot, or could i go up? I dont want to go to high and create lag from the throttle correct? Help in any way.

I assume you are talking about the rpm limiter. 6200 - 6500 should be good.

YEA im talking about the limiter. Ive been trying different limits, and i think 6300 ran the best, but when i went to 6400, i felt a bit of a change (a lil lag)

So if it peaks out at 5900 (which is what i read) how much higher should i set my rpm at? Going to high would just hurt the engine right? Also, should i change my throttle body? Since i have K&N CAI, should i switch the throttle body to match the intake i have?

With my brenspeed 92octane tune mine shifts at 6500RPMwith WOT. I havnt changed anything as far as the tune goes....no need to change the TB, infact most would recommend against it.

If the rpm's are too high, what signs would you look for anyway?

look at a dyno, peak power is aroun 5800-5900 and continues pretty steady for awhile.....some shift at 6500 with no problems....some take it higher when racing but you dont need to shift that high at all, especially for normal driving or casual street running

If you are talking about the rev limiter then you can set it at 6600-6800...the purpose is to limit how high you go by accident....you are not suppose to be taking up there on purpose...shifting at 6250 is fine the rev limiter set at 6800 should not effect that point at all.

my car pulls very hard up about 6500; through much experimentation, i found that a 6350-6400 shift point works best.
