Default Engine Bogging and Surging at 2,500..hellpp

When I accelerate slowly the engine will start to bogg at 2,500 rpm Ill give it more gas and nothing happends but if I stab the throttle the power will suddenly surge back. Now if I accelerate quickly from a stop there is not lag. But if I'm Cruising and I slow down then slowly accelerate I get the bogging. I have 16,000 miles. It happend a few times when I only had 5,000 miles but its starting to get worse. My mods are C&L Intake, Brenspeed tune, Steeda UDP's, Magnaflow Catted X, and SLP's. The problem seemed to have started after I had the UDP's installed. Could they cause my alternator to undercharge?

You know what, mine does the same thing. Sometimes, right around 2500 RPM, it kinda bogs. Other times, it doesnt. Perhaps its the Brenspeed tune? I've been told its the lack o torque from the H pipe in my case....but I dont know for sure.

It actually did it a little bit with the stock tune. Ive been worried that my throttle body or my fuel pump is going out. Ive been getting a little bit of jerking when I accelerate really slow, I dunno whats going on. Side note...If I throw it into neutral and rev the engine its perfectly normal.

Very true....never had this problem on mine that i recall but if you are in 3rd at that RPM it will react differently than 4th or 5th at the same....

Two things you can do easily.

1. Clean the inside of the throttle body with a good throttle body cleaner. Spray the stuff on a rag then clean the inside of the throttle body. Manually open the throttle butterflys, clean them. Reach in as far as you can. You will clean out gobbs of black stuff.

2. Sounds like your MAF may need cleaning. Remove the control wire from the MAF, remove the two screws (torq) pull the sensor out. Us a cleaner that is designed for this, you can get it at Auto Zone or Advanced. Spray the cleaner directly into the the hole/s (where you can see the sensor) you cant hurt anything so give it a good bath. Blow out dry with a hair dryer (cool setting). Reinstall and test.

If you still have a problem let me/us know.

Later

I would either say MAF or your A/F is running lean or rich..get it dyno tuned!

I cleaned the throttlebody as well as the MAF and it was starting to get worse. I noticed a big difference as soon as I left the shop with the stock pullies on. Maybe I got a bad set of UDP's or they were installed incorrectly by a different shop but from what I can tell the problem is gone...no jerking with light throttle and no bogging...smooth as silk.
