I wish I would have went with a Whipple as far as customer service goes.

The BAP is a band-aid IMHO. And not a very effective one...before I go spouting off I have to get that confirmed but my Voltage drop readings w/a fuel pressure gauge show that the BAP coupled with a stock GT pump just wont last....mine is fried. I just ordered a GT500 fuel pump set up and having the collision cent install it before it comes out of the shop. And before I even drive it, I have a tow scheduled to take it to Jannetty Racing, so Ted himself can take a look at it and Dyno tune it. Oh yeah and somehow the belt was loose to. If that is an install problem, I'm not sure but it was fine for three days after the install....now its loose. Belt tensioner? I've also seen the KB fuel tables....coupled with the FR whipple...there is a world of difference. Now I never owned a Whipple, so I can't say anything about it. But from what Ted Jannetty says that if you take that fuel map and A/F table transplant it, w/a couple mods here and there for a KB...oh my god. I got the warm fuzzy from Ted and I know his reputation around CT. Even the import Tuners know him fairly well. He puts out decent HP from his shop like Chris and Danny from XXTuning in East Hartford. I had a bad experience, and to tell you the truth that there was a multitude of things that went wrong. I do believe though that BAP just is not a very costeffective or efficient way to upgrade a fuel system. Again, just an opinion for now, till I can back it up when I get my car looked at more thouroughly by a proffesional with factual proffesional equipment. And it may be that I have deffective equipment, that does happen. This could aslo just be an isolated thing...we'll find out though.

There is a specific Kenne Bell forum on another board in which you can get a response from them. When I do call them, I just put them on redial and keep calling. I have always got through to them the same day. When I ordered my 2.6 ,I faxed in my order I got a very brief email saying they are processing my order. Five days later a Fed Ex truck pulled up to my surprise (joy)with the delivery. I guess they just communicate to there customers on a different level then somesuppliers.I have worked with many suppliers in my day job and believe me they all have there quirks. You just need to understand how to work with them. I do see your point though

I had a leaky seal on mine and I took it to the installer to have it fixed. It was the wrong seal and my installer could not get ahold of kb??? So I went to the kb forum on another forum and posted, James got the message from there and my installer had it next day. I dont think you will have many problems with the KB, but you cant go wrong with the whipple either.

just an observation here.....
after reading threads for over a year, it seems that as far as
reliability, the big 3 twin screws, come down like this (at this time)....
#1 Saleen VI
#2 KB
#3 Whipple
But, as fordfanboy says, every s/c has it's own set of
issues and none are perfect.
do your own due diligence before spending 5 -6 big ones, that
way you have no regrets.....

+1 w/Hammeron. I'm still VERY green when it comes to the FI world. I've had a couple other stangs, stock mind you though. And the research you have to do to choose the right set up for your style is time consuming and aggravating. I'm VERY happy with my KB and the output from it. More or less I'm just fine tuning it now to my needs and wants...
As I mentioned before my mustang is no longer a daily driver, but a weekend warrior. Jim Bell has an awesome product and I had to weigh my options. I had great feed back from the guys here on this site and another to aid me in my decision. I'm happy that I didn't go Turbo, which was in the works for me at one point.
Good luck to the OP's search for his perfect FI set up. You pay for what you get remember that. No matter what you choose, the end result will make you very happy as long as you do the research and talk to as many people as you can. I hope that I didn't discourage anyone froma KB. As I mentioned before a lot of what I say comes from fustration with having my car back for a little over a week and its gone again into a shop, then again when it gets out of this shop.
....I'm so glad I'm not married otherwise my wife would have made me go live in the car by now!!!!
