About to pull the trigger...

About to pull the trigger...
On a short MAC prochamber to compliment my boomtubes...
There isn't a lot of info on these, are they just x-pipes????
Will this one fit my stock exhaust?

Or should I just get a corsa x-midpipe....Whatever it is, it has to leave the cats alone and pass emissions...

RE: About to pull the trigger...
i have a prochamber...the short one is strictly to bolt up to long tube headers OR you can cut your current H pipe to bolt it up to your stock cats. Prochambers are neither x pipes nor h pipes, they are their own midpipe. It merges the exhaust pulses into a metal box (the prochamber) before going through your over axles and in your case to the boom tubes. I have an off road prochamber that i ordered from brenspeed, and i LOVE it.
that specific prochamber will only fit your car if you cut down the stock h pipe but you would be using your stock cats. IMO the off road sounds incredible check out my prochamber/stingers thread for a video. One more thing, the prochamber does not have a baffle in it or anything, it is just a plain welded box lol

This sounds like a plug and play prochamber with stock cats, no?

RE: About to pull the trigger...
I would buy it but I have 2 questions...
1. Will it fit lol.
2. Will I need to email brenspeed for a new updated tune for the midpipe, or is this just for headers?

1.) yes it will fit but you have to cut your stock H pipe so that it can hook up to the cats
2.) you only need to get a new tune if you take your cats off.
I need to pass emissions here in new york too. The guy who did mine said he doesn't have to hook it up to a sniffer until 2009 when the car is 2 years old. Also if it's a problem I can just take the pipe out for the one day a year and re install it later. It only takes about an hour and a half to 2 hours. The only real problem with installation is the front oxygen sensor

RE: About to pull the trigger...
the pro chamber would sound real nice w/ the boomtubes. but emissions testing makes it a pain, cutting and welding on to the cats, but why would the front O2 sensors be a problem? arent they before the cats?
