Default Electric Supercharger?

I've seen some people selling a high-speed fan that you put into your air intake stream rigged up to come on only at WOT. It gives 0.5 to 1 lb of boost. However, when you aren't at WOT, it is a restriction in the air stream.

I thought about using it with CAI and new TB.

Does anyone have any experience with this setup? Any dyno-proven results?

I've never heard of such a thing and to me it sounds like a bad idea. Is the .5-1psi of boost at WOT really worth the decreased performance during all other driving. And I don't think you would get that much power from such little boost.

Same here...never heard of anything like this. I don't think the low boost numbers would do much for you. Assuming it did work I don't believe the boost could be that hight without having to do a tune.

The only way I can see one of those working is on a engine with very small displacement, like 1.6L or something.

This second link is the only viable electric supercharger I've ever seen. I don't think this would work very well on any V8, unless it was one of those small Yamaha V8's from the SHO Taurus or something.
