Default Track related question

I havent ran my car yet at the track with drag radials on the rear wheels... I was considering buying the nitto drag radials offered on americanmuscle.com for my old 18 inch rims. Will it make a difference at all if I get 17's with drag radials compared to putting radials on my 18's???

You have a much better selection of drag radials to choose from with 17s, I believe only BF Goodrich and NITTO make 18" drag radials.

The overall diameter of the tires and ride height should not change enough to be an issue, the 18s are a lower profile tire so overall diameter should

be close, I have always heard smaller wheel better for strip, I am not a expert but I got stock 17s with M/T drag radials and I am very pleased with

results !!!

the is not a lot of choices for 18" DRs to fit th stock 18 x 8.5 rims.... Mickey Thompson has 18s now...but limitied availiablity 305/35 and 345/30 in size...so u need at least a 10" wide rim....

DONT GET NITTOs if its a track only tire....if your gonna get a set just for the track... get some 17 x 9 bullits and 275/40/18 or 295/40/18 MT ET Radials... they hook real well

The more sidwall you got for the strip, the better. 17's better than 18's for drag strip.

Yes. Get a larger sidewall for more sidewall flex for more grip. Less sidewall for loose-applications
