My wife b*tched a little bit because she thought it was "perfectly fine the way it is". But that changed once she figured out all the attention she was getting while driving it. First, make certain you can afford it without digging a deep debt hole. Second, don't ask permission, sell her on the idea. Help her understand that this is something important to you and that her support of your desire means a lot you your relationship. Remember that big rock you put out for when you asked her to marry you? It's now your turn.
