Install Advice...Which Shop?
I have my new clutch(Spec 3+)andflywheel sitting in the basement. I was originally going to have the shop that did all my other work do the install but I found out the ford dealership right down the road from me will also install it. The only problem i have with the shop installing it, is that seems I am the first for every install, if you know what i mean. Also the shop is ahour away vs 2min for the Ford dealer.... Just wondering what you guys think ?...I dunno how good these Ford mechanics are when it comes to performance parts although a clutch is a clutch i would guess.
I would go through ford. They probably know what they are doing, and have much more insuriance and leverage if something wrong happens.
Also, since they are helping install your mods, they might like you a just a tad better if anything ever happens if your warranty is still current.

Take it to Ford, you don't want to be the first one in line for an install they have not done. Plus (hopefully) the dealership will make sure everything is set to factory specs and shim things if needed.
Just remember that dealers charge more per hour for install than most tansmission shops and performance shops do IMHO. (at least mine shop is cheaper per hour 60 dollars /hour vs. 100 dollars an hour dealer) Regardless most any experienced dealer should be able to do the install. If you have an SVT dealer near you have them install it and make sure all the credentials are up to date. They take more pride in their work from what I have learned from the past experiences with my SVT dealer. Hope it helps J
