Default Steeda article

I bet most of you have seen this article, http://www.mustangmonthly.com/featur...ust/index.html
but how swayed/exaggerated do you think these HP #'s are for the pullys, Intake, and mufflers? They say that adding those 3 things will boost the RWHP up to as mch as 310, but I have a hard time trusting it B/C the dyno testing was done by Steeda....and all the parts are Steeda[&:]Are these #'s anywhere close to what some of you are running with similar mods?

well if you figure a stock GT puts down about 270 +/-......

intake and tune worth 25-30
udp - 10-15
mufflers 0-5 (maybe)

then 35-50 gain on 270 = 305-325

Yeah I'd buy it.

UDP's will not give you 10-15hp, more like 8-10hp. Mufflers I'd say are more like 0-3. I'd say its exaggerated by about 10-15hp.

I was at a dyno day in September where three new S197s dynoed between 270-275 on a MD....bone stock.... the shop owner was surpised by the first one reading that high..... so much so he stoped to check the calibrations and set up on the dyno.....

So maybe there were factory freaks but seems that the cars can get there stock...

After 4 years of making the 3V 4.6, they're probably getting better at it.

I think from the assembly line, some of the motors are closer to "blueprint" than others. It's the luck of the draw. (Although with this engine the quality control seems pretty good.)

Thats what kills me, I think someone else was there and posted the same thing or you might have in the past....MDs always read less than dynojets, so to register that high he must have been tweaking the results to get the readings that high. If i remember correctly it was a reputable person but I still would never accept those numbers.
