WTF??
The fastest I have been was between 150-152mph...I glanced at my speedo two or three seconds before I let off and it was right at 150mph...I gotta say, it was nerve racking...I was in 5th obviously
EDIT: It was a closed track over the summer (so I dont get flamed)

Solid rear axle will help in accel and hooking off the line and an IRS is great for the oval tracks and lap racing where turns are just as important as straight aways. I agree that Ford did the live rear axle for cost reasons but at the track IMO it is much better (in a straight line) and anyone crashing at the track either blew the motor and slipped all over the place (oil) or the radiator was shot and water was spilled on the track causing an accident. Maybe the power is to great for the rear suspension and the car hooked off the line wrong because of lack of driver exp or poor rear suspension. JMO J

Thanks for the response. Your's is probably the best so far. I know, it is not something that you try everyday, the driving at 126+, but still I was quiet disturbed to see this European car with the small engine blasting past me. I guess, when it comes to Turbo-charging no one can beat the Germans. I have done more research and found that Germans apply more technology to smaller engines to get the maximum out of it, whereas, American manufacturers can't cope with detailed/complex technology, so the best they do is make a 5ltr V8 and try to achieve the same power. Another example is that we still have live-axle in the rear, which has been taken from 1960s. Just to save few bucks, Ford didn't even bothered to provide us with the proper mechanicals. No wonder, there are tons of videos of new Mustangs getting in accidents on youtube.com
As far as Audi is concerned, I know, I am sold. I will buy an Audi one day for sure. I am surprised by the technologies they have put in their cars. I actually went to Audi dealer yesterday in Alexandria/VA, and test drove the pre-owned certified A6 2.7 Bi-Turbo, and I was shocked to see the difference in the acceleration and smoothness. The engine is refined the best it could be. The transmission is Trip-tronic, which helps you choose the the gear changing between Auto and Manual. And the best feature is that all Audis are Quattro, so they have the best AWD system too.
I still love my Mustang, but my heart is set on Audi. It is not a **** car anymore to me...It's German excellence.

Dont get hung up on the Audi being faster at high speeds. 4 cylinders have been pushing somewhere near 200mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats. They do it because they are made for it. Like everyone has said, get your car looked at as to why it wont get to 135-145 range. ButI really doubt a dealer is going to do much about it.
I can see it now, "Your car will only got up to 126? Are you kidding me? What are you going that damn fast for?"
Id say take it to a tuner and let them figure out if its a software issue that can be easily retuned. Then go play.
If you are getting this stuck on an Audi, wait till a modded SRT4 leaves you in a butthurt state of mind.
Aerodynamics play a major roll in acceleration at higher speeds. Its no secret that the new Mustang is not very slippery when it comes to cutting through the air.
There will always be someone out there faster than you. Dont let it get to you so much.
You could always throw on a S/C and leave about 98% of the driving public looking at your taillights if it really bothers you that much.
Please dont take my post as a flame to you. Words are easily misunderstood when your not able to see or hear the person saying them.
