HELP! Engine check light...

HELP! Engine check light...
My 'stang is a daily driver and I've just ticked the odometer past 40K. My oil changes are always on time(3,000 miles) and full synthetic (Royal Purple). Other than when teasing the occasional M3 or 350Z, I hardly ever let the throttle loose. So this afternoon my engine cut off while stopped at a red light and I didn't even notice. I turned the car back on and drove off as usual with no engine check light yet. As the day progressed I noticed my engine trying to cut off when I slowed to a stop in neutral. Then the check engine light comes on. On the way home this evening my engine shut off again while coasting to a stop. It idles very rough at some points, and then just sits at 1200 rpm. Very strange engine sounds... like it's trying to die.
The weather here has been getting much colder and I have a hunch the tuning may be the cause... maybe my engine is running too lean? That is a completely uneducated guess, which is why I'm here trying to get some educated answers if possible.

RE: HELP! Engine check light...
Your sig says you have a tuner. If so, plug it in and get your trouble codes. It should tell you what it is (My Predator does anyway). If you need further assistance, post the codes on here and someone can help.
On a side note, I've noticed that when I hit the traction control hard (so hard it falls on it's face) that I will occasionally get a code for too lean. The car still runs fine though and the code clears with no problem. Also, if it's VERY cold out and the engine is cold, revving the engine too soon after start up has thrown the "wrench" light and a number of associated codes. It did go into limp mode but after clearing the codes everything was fine. I'm guessing maybe the MAF doesn't like being inundated with sub-zero air that soon after start-up.
