Default CAI Question

Thinking about getting a CAI that doesn't require a tune. I am getting a SCT from bama chips need to be able to flash car back to stock without having to take off CAI. Whats the big difference in HP between JLT and KN CAI ? The car is 07 auto mustang gt .

i had the k&n and then switched to JLT the difference on the dyno was 10 hp. the k&n gave me about 15 hp and the JLT about 25. the k&n is more of a PITA to install relatively to the JLT, just because of the intake tube support on the k&n bc its bolted to the valve covers. the install for the K&N is about 45-60 min. the JLT is about 10-15 min, and to take off the stock airbox takes about 5 minutes, and the JLT is 50 bucks cheaper. my advice is get the JLT and just switch it back to stock airbox, it should only take you 15 minutes or less.

The Airaid CAI can be used without a Tune, if you leave the MVT in it. But without a Tune, you'll be missing out on a LOT of Fun. The install shouldn't take more than 15 minutes start to finish.

Why not buy a better CAI since you already have the SCT. It takes just a few minutes to swap intakes, piece of cake.

Thanks everbody I saw the video of Taco Bill installing the KN CAI and wasnt sure if I wanted to go thru that when I take the car in for service. But if I understand what yall are saying the JLT CAI is easier to install.

The tune does more for your car than the CAI. If you have to choose one, you should choose the tune.

Though both combined is pretty awesome.

I can return mine to stock in about 10 minutes, CAI to stock air box and tune back to stock. I don't see the big deal

I was bummed with my 10 rwhp gain with k&n intake. Reading your post I'm going to give the JLT a go and sell the k&n!!
