I just replaced my stock 235/50/18's tires and fanblades with 275/40/18's and SVT 2007 Cobras and thought adjusting the speedometer would be a breeze. Reading thru the manual, itindicates that I need to download the Extreme Tune software. Before I do that, I wanted to check on what to do before I start. I've yet to connect my XCAL2 to my PC and just wanted some feedback.
Thanks, guys. I'll post some pics later.

Umm, RELOAD the tune. During the initial selection, it asks if you want to change and optional parameters. Select the tire size option, and then select the "revolutions per mile" that your tire size would be (manufacturers give you this). Continue to load the tune, and you are set.
I'm pretty sure all you need to do is hook up the XCAL to your car and change the revolutions per mile under optional parameters. Your revs per mile are 756 with the new rims and tires. Diametersize is 26.7in. Choose 755 in the XCAL under revs per mile and your good to go. Hope that helps.

From the XCAL2 manual, it says I need to download the Extreme Tune software and the .xtr file from Brenspeed. I had previously tried the tuner AND reloaded the tune but didn't see the "change optional parameters" choice however, I DO recall seeing that once before.I DID install the Extreme Tune software but will have to wait until Monday for Brenspeed to get the .xtr file... Unless someone here insists I should just be able to plug and play and make the change.

OK, so I feel pretty stupid right now and relieved at the same time. I was pretty sure I didn't need to do anything "special" but I really must have been brain dead last night. I went to the brenspeed website this morning. Under "SCT Xcalibrator 2 Training Videos" I watched the video "Click to View Operating User Adjustability" . I guess I just didn't scroll far enough thru the menus when I tried last night. I reloaded my tune and made the adjustment for revs per mile. Now my speedo should be good-to-go. See what a good nights sleep can do? If only the crappy weather would let up...
