Default Engine swap!

Has anyone heard of transplanting a 351w in the S197? Or any other pushrod v8? Iread thatsomeone puta 427 cammer in MM&FF magazine. According to that guy, it was a perfect fit! I wonder if ford did that for a reason, or if another older pushrod would also fit. I bring this up because in my opinion nothing beats that classic pushrod feel and sound. And honestly, I'm tired of LS1's kicking my *** because of bigger displacment and pushrod power![:@]

You just need more mods to kick some LS1, LS2 and LS3 azz!

The 427 Mustang that was built last year was cool but I would never be interested in a Windsor S197.

If you're going to do an engine swap, theres a lot of other better choices than a 351W

Like a built SC'ed engine [sm=drooldude.gif] ... anyway, with $$$ anything is possible.

The problem is when they say it 'fits' - they are talking specifically about fitting in the compartment. To make it truly 'fit' and work - there is a lot more than just dropping the motor in there. The wiring harness has to be redone, if you have mods already, most of them wont' work, etc, etc.

Not really worth it dollars wise when it is all said and done.

If you're going to go big, you might as well go BIG and put a 500ci monster in there cause the crossover work is about the same...

You need to invest that engine swap money intosimple bolt onmods and an S/C. No LS1 will dare to pull up next to you unless it is after you give them a good spanking. I had a 98 N/A GT and never had trouble with LS1s, you just need to put the time and money into the car.

Honestly, if you're looking into an engine swap, why not take a blast from the past. The old Cobra engines made some ****ing ridiculous power. And they weren't giant 5.4L behemoths.

The Falken Tires drift S197 uses an old Cobra block.
