Of course being on my FOURTH freakin head unit, I am now wishing something different was in there. It sounds good, and it's not like you are putting money out of your pocket after you buy the car ( for a new stereo ) or adding that much to your payment. But the disk errors and skipping is REALLY starting to get old.
Speaking of which, anyone installed a Kenwood DDX7015 in their 2005 yet? I am kinda seriously wanting one, but it is going to suck to throw down that much jack and it not fit or look crappy once it is in there.

Hawman;
Didn't the guys at Ford warn you that hitting Rail Road Crossings and jumping ditches at 120MPH will cause your disk to skp?
Try putting rubber shock absorbers on the mounting bolts of the head unit!

Have you checked to see if any of the last three radios were "B" version or not? You know with the 3-6 radio buttons pressed and held and wait for the serial number to be displayed. I want to know if the "B" version fixes the problems we are having.

I have the Shaker 500 but definently would have gone for the Shaker 1000 if it is available. In my old lady's quest to get me an 05 GT as a surprise gift (without ordering) and searching dozens of dealers and driving hundreds of miles, I'll keep my 500 for awhile!

Dont bother with the Shaker 1000..... you are essentially paying that extra cash for the 10" subs and thats it.... such a waste of cash

unless you really like rap or bothering people and having no trunk space, i'd just go with the 500- its a 500 watt system which is damn loud enough. And your trunk is already small as-is so why take away the extra room?

I've got the 1000 and love it. I'm not the type who would go out and put in new subs, amp, etc.. myself and just getting it all from the dealership was easiest for me. I think it is a great system to come from the factory w/ a great sound. Also, it will add to your resale price. If you aren't looking for a system to blow someone away, but want a good quality sound, it's worth the extra cash in my opinion.
