How much does it cost to have a forged short block put in a newer mustang gt???

use your current block and swap out the rotating assembly

2500-3000 for parts + labor


depending on what u want in the be s/b I've see up to 10-12K for custom builds

It would be cheaper to buy a built block from mmr for $2799, but that's the iron block i think. Labor should be less with this route as well.

Livernois quoted me ~$6k installed for their 1000HP aluminum shortblock. I might do it next season, plus LT headers (another ~$2k installed)

fuel system upgrades
very minor valve work along with springs
new flywheel (for iron block)
and tuning

Ouch, what happened?

Looks like through MMR you can upgrade to the stock aluminum block for $730. My goal woudl be do doa built block at the same time as a Whipple and just do it all at once.

Isnt it possible for a tight wad, do it yourself'er to buy the built bottom end and then switch the stuff over from the stock engine??
