I'm ordering my car in Southern California, i dont know how the dealer got my car through so quickly, i'm just stoked that he did. I dated this girl in high school for about 2 years and her family owns a ford dealership. i called him up when i was wanting to buy a car and he gave me a killer deal on the mustang and i could not pass it up. 1500 dollars BELOW sticker. i spoke to him today and he said he'd try and get me a good deal on STEEDA rims, hopefully he comes through, if not i'll just buy them on my own. hopefully yours will come soon. i'll keep my fingers crossed because it is a good feeling to know that your car is going to be made

Like we all have been saying for months now, Ford is giving priority to all the dealers that are HIGH volume and in the sunbelt areas. This is not fair to others that are no as lucky to live in such areas. The smaller dealers are being screwed up the bum because they don't sell as many vehicles. I ordered from a small dealer on 11/17/04 and the damn car is still clean and unscheduled. I got tired of waiting so I went to another dealer that is a higher volume dealer and that car is still clean and unscheduled. Both dealers do have allocation and the smaller dealer is a good friend of mine so he is doing all he can to get me the car. I am going to have to get onto the Ford medical plan so I can get some Prozac at their expense. Ford used to have a program called "Turn and Earn" where if they sold a vehicle they would get another one to replace it. Now with the allocations system and prioritization of dealers, the smaller dealers got the shaft.

Sorry but I need to vent out some of the frustrations that myself and others are going through trying to get our orders delivered. Like I said, Ford is not treating all the dealers equally in my eyes. I don't see why they can't process the orders in the order they were recieved and based on availability of parts. But no, they have to favor others and put out as many premium orders as possible and screw the ones that only want a deluxe model.

OK, that's enough for now........

This is no way in any means pointed towards you. Congrats on your order but for those of us who can't even get serialized because we can't be at a location where Ford wants us to be to even be considered of getting one. I am sure the wait is well worth it but it is the frustration that we are going through. I am sure there are several of us in that same boat that I am in and feel they way I do. I am trying to keep the faith but as each day goes on, it keeps fading away. I am sure you were suprised when you got serialized and recieved a build date especially after reading what some of us are going through.

I am sorry if I have offended you or anyone else in any way but I did not mean to put anyone down because they have their car and I don't. My hat goes off to all you who have their car or are expecting it soon. It is one of the best Mustangs that has been put out on the market. The workers at Flat Rock deserve to be commended for their efforts on trying to get them out the door while trying to keep the quality of the car to its highest level. It is the jokers in between them and the dealer who are the ones that are playing all the political games in the system.

Again, congrats on your order and enjoy when you get it delivered.

How does allocation work?

Is this how -

A dealer sells 10 mustangs a month and gets to place 10 a month.

My dealer says that there are 2 cars ordered ahead of mine.

They were ordered before the end of the year and mine in January. Why are they having so many problems getting 3 cars. Please explain allocation if you understand it.

I got Serialized yesterday!

So I'll assume that means I WILL get an 05 GT Red/Red Convertable THIS summer!
