Default Whipple Purchase

Where is the best place to purchase the whipple from. I was looking at alternative auto because I live in Michigan but see there package is only producing 450 rwhp 445 rwtq at 12 lbs of boost. Seems a little low compared to some people on here.I thought I seen one guy at 490 hp with only 10 lbs of boost. Would like to stay under 10 lbs until I can get forged internals. Any thoughts???

My personal choice for a whipple purchase is lethal performance. If you want to see 490 rwhp on 10 pounds of boost, you'll need to get a custom dyno tune. There's no other safe way.

Of course. But thats what alternatives is I think. They want 7500 installed and dyno tuned, or 5995 + shipping.

I don't think 490rwhp is safe no matter how you get it.

I said it once if I said it 1000 times. Tousley Ford is the way to go.

Call 1-800-328-9552, ask for Steve

Its not that im looking for 490 hp. I would accept 450 hp at 10 lbs. I just dont want 12lbs of boost without forged internals.

450+ rwhp is common with the 10psi kit.

I went to Livernois and got a install and dyno tune and I'm at 430 with 8psi. 450 with 10 will be easy.

I had my whipple installed by Lidio as well and have nothing but great things to say about him and his installs and tuning ability. Remember that the tune was on the GEN I whipples and on a very safe tune at that. The generation 2 whipple which you would receive are more efficient. Mine was pig rich at the tune he originally did (10.9 A/F ratio at 6500 RPMs) and I went back and had him adjust it and she put out 465 RWHP and 440 RWTQ (11.2-11.5 across the board) . Previously the car ran 454 RWHP and same TQ numbers. This was using the 12 # pulley but the actual boost level on the dyno was 10.7 for my dyno runs (pretty consistent too). Regardless -unless he is forging your motor I would not push it past 450 RWHP and even at that level there is NO guarantee that the motor wont blow in the future. Anyone that has an S/C and uses it should have taken this into consideration BEFORE they bought the S/C... JMO J
