Default superchargers?

Hey... I've been looking at different superchargers but I don't know everything about them yet. I've got an '08 GT automatic, so apparently I can't get the ford racing 500 hp package. I want someting around 450-500 hp, so I've been looking at saleen and paxton. Would the paxton not give the instant boost like saleen since its a centrifugal supercharger? And if I got the paxton could I get a shaker hood and still fit the paxton in there?

I have been pondering the age old s/c question myself. Saleen vs Whipple..sorry.. Paxton kind of entered out of it awhile ago, however Ill throw in what I know about paxton.. here we go with what I am pondering, please correct incorrect info:

1) Price. Whipple: 5600; Saleen: 5300; Paxton: 4400?
2)HP(from box) Whipple: 425? Saleen: 375; Paxton 450?
3) Whine. Whipple: LOUD Saleen: Quiet; Paxton.. guess quiet? (Quiet=bonus for me.. I would prefer to leave people guessing)
4)Reliability: all 3 I believe are fine
5) HP for the PSI. I believe the latest Whipple (the HO2) gets best performance?

Umm.. thats what I have been mulling over.. and basically has left me realising.. I should pay off my car before spending 6,000 on a S/c...

edit: to answer your questions.. dunno about the shaker or why would need it. and centri I believe takes more RPM to reach the RWHP of either saleen or whipple

Sure you can. Buy the Whipple HO kit from lethal performance and opt for an SCT tune from VMP. Boom, 500+ HP on an automatic (the kit actually made well over 500hp for me). For the money, nothing beats the whipple. An intercooled, 24psi capable supercharger with an included GT500 dual fuel pump system all for well under $6K= perfect. There's a reason why whipple sells more kits than the other guys. (Please, owners of brand X supercharger, don't get butt hurt over my post. Boost is boost. All the kits make power, I just prefer the whipple.)

Took me about two months to figure out which one to get but I went with the Whipple HO. Most of the forums I have read said nothing but good things about the Whipple. I like all the others but I chose the Whipple for reputation and drivability. Not much help but it is a pain trying to make a choice.

I decided on the Paxton as it is very quiet, easy to maintain, fits under stock hoods (shaker too) and strut bars, Builds boost progressivly rather than instant on. I already fry tires as it is, I don't need instant low boost. Less pesky belt problems when using smaller pullies as compared to roots style.

No problems here with the Paxton and making a ton of power. Technically boost builds with RPM's but I can roast the tires without trying. The cost was great and I liked what Brenspeed was doing with them.

Any S/c that is out there will get you to the 450-500 range but you have to ask your self are you going to stay in that range 6months or even a year down the road? Whats with the paxton kit as the last setup on the totem pole? The novi 2200 can handle up to 1000hp. I myself will stop around 550 to the wheels or so and then learn how to make her hook.

Hey heavyg72, what tires are you running? Im going to see how i like riding around with some 555 D/R's but im still iffy because we get quite a few rain storms in FL and she is my DD.
