the difference is mainly the name.
Shelby GT handles better, sits lower, has a CAI and agressive tune. stripes, Shelby Lettering, Powered by Ford Badges, California Special Front and Rear Fascia, Fog Lamp delete, custom grille

basically you could do all this yourself for less money than a Shelby would cost you but it wouldn't have the same limited production value...and please don't go for the badges...that would be posing...

If you get a GT and lower it, change the suspension, install a custom CAI and Tune combo you'll almost certainly be faster than a Shelby GT...you just won't have the name

If you just mean performance or appearance wise then it's nothing you couldn't do yourelf a heck of lot cheaper. if it's reslae, we won't know for several years to see if they become a collectors item.

Most people I've talked to consider them a huge rip-off.. If in 10 years they hold their resale value better then I'll be very surprised. especially when you can take the extra money you would have spent and get supercharged. (maybe even enough for new wheels/tires and LCAs too.. put that power down).. but some people just believe that the shelby name is worth the extra cost... Shelby GT/SC now there is an interesting one.. I don't know how much they cost but I'm going to bet more than a GT500(at 41,000) which means.. Not worth it IMHO.
